How to Make Delicious Fruit-Infused Sea Moss Gel

Sea moss, also known as Irish moss, is a nutrient-rich seaweed that offers numerous health benefits. It is packed with essential vitamins and minerals, including iodine, iron, and magnesium, which support thyroid function, boost immunity, and promote healthy digestion. Additionally, sea moss is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties and can aid in improving skin health and promoting a healthy weight.

If you’re tired of bland or boring seamoss OR you feel that your fruit sea moss can have a little bit more oomph, you have come to the right place!  In this recipe I use purple sea moss but you can use regular as well. The addition of soaked dates and a pinch of sea salt makes this seamoss delightful!

Tools Needed

Ingredients for Fruit Infused Sea Moss Gel

  • Sea Moss: I use purple sea moss for this recipe.  You can use any type of sea moss you prefer. If you want a more vibrant color for your fruit infused sea moss, use regular sea moss. * Leaving the dates out will also give a more vibrant color but it will not provide the same taste.

  • Limes: Limes are used to while soaking your sea moss to help get rid of some of the very fishy taste that sea moss can provide. Although it will not get rid of it completely this really helps especially with the addition of Fruit, dates, and a little sea salt.

  • Frozen Fruit: Frozen fruit is great because it’s super convenient in what I keep on hand. You can also use fresh fruit, or you can opt to mix them.

  • Dates: Medjool dates are my preferred date. They are bigger and softer than regular dates.

  • Sea salt: If you are opting to use salt instead of salted butter, about ¼ teaspoon is what I suggest per batch. You can most certainly adjust to your taste.
  • Water: You can use Spring or alkaline water if you want to boost the health benefits of the sea moss.

How To Make Fruit Infused Sea Moss Gel

  1. Cleanse: Clean your sea moss by placing in a bowl and covering with water.  Begin to massage the sea moss making sure to thoroughly clean your sea moss of any debris. Rinse and repeat 2-3 times.

  2. Soak: Soak your sea moss with clean water I used (spring water).  Add the juice of one line and soak for 8-12 hours.

  3. Soften: Soften your dates by soaking them in boiling water for 10 -15 minutes. Be sure to remove the pits from the dates. You can do this stick before or after soaking.

  4.  Add: Add your soaked sea moss, frozen fruit, softened dates, water, and sea salt (optional) to a super high-speed blender such as a Vitamix blender.

  5. Blend: Blend until completely smooth until it is about the consistency of baby food. Enjoy immediately or place into a clean mason jar or a clean glass jar with a lid.
