Fall Fruit Salad

This delicious fruit salad smells like fall and taste like a healthy apple pie in a bowl!

Equipment

  • Large Bowl (for salad)
  • Cutting Board
  • Kitchen Knife
  • Apple Chopper (optional)
  • Large Spoon (for mixing)

Ingredients

  • 2 Fuji apples
  • 2 honey crisp apples
  • 3 red pears or a mix with green pears
  • ½ cup chopped black walnuts pecans, and/or sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup dried cranberries

For Maple Dressing

  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  • Prepare the fruits:
  • - Core and chop the Fuji apples, honey crisp apples, and red pears into bite-sized pieces.
  • - Place the chopped fruits in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the nuts and dried cranberries:
  • - Add the chopped black walnuts, pecans, and/or sunflower seeds to the bowl.
  • - Pour in the dried cranberries.
  • Make the dressing:
  • - In a separate bowl, whisk together the freshly squeezed lemon juice, pure maple syrup, and cinnamon until well combined.
  • Combine the salad:
  • - Pour the dressing over the fruit, nut, and cranberry mixture.
  • - Gently toss all the ingredients together until well coated with the dressing.
  • Chill and serve:
  • - Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • - Just before serving, give the salad a final toss.
  • - Serve the autumn harvest fruit salad in individual bowls or as a side dish to accompany your favorite autumn meal.

Step 1

Juice your lemon and add the juice to 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup along with your cinnamon and mix thoroughly.

Wash and dry your fruit thoroughly.

Chop your apples and pears into bite-size pieces.
